World kidney Day

Kidneys are essential for :
Filtering body fluids so as to remove waste through pee

Balancing body fluids and electrolytes ( essential minerals like sodium and potassium)

Control acid base balance of the blood.
Make glucose if there's not enough in the blood.
Produce hormones called calcitrol and erythropoietin that helps in making blood cells.( this is done through adrenal glands sitting on top of each kidney) 
It also produces cortisol.

However kidney can be damaged 

Chronic Kidney Dieses caused by diabetes or high blood pressure can affect the kidneys 

Kidney cancer or pyolonephritis can affect kidney function.

Kidney stone can as well lead to kidney failure if not treated.

Signs of kidney problem 

Foamy urine
Dry skin
Frequent urination 
Puffy eyes
Swollen ankle
Dark urine
Back pain

Always observed every January 26th, this entails being affectionate to whatever you you do to earn a living. In other words, someone's occupation should be cherished and not seen as  punishment. To achieve this therefore the following must be ensured: Adequate salary or reward system Conducive working environment Personal motivation Proper recreational facilities Avoidance of structural conflict Cordial relationship among worker And so on. Lack of relaxation and fun at work leads to low output and that is why efforts must be made to create enabling environment for workers. Government must give e listening ear to the yearnings of the labour unions. Workers on the other hand should avoid being toxic among themselves.

Avoid Tresspass

Our kiddies story today was all about the dangers of Tresspass. A couple happily living beside a garden owned by an evil lady named Ikiriukwummuo. Ikiriukwummuo was highly dreaded because she was taking after the porcupine who was once adviced by his kindred to spare certain portions of her body from her signature spiky thorns. The porcupine however defiled all good counsels handed down to her by her well-meaning brothers and sisters and literally grew thorns all over but the eyes Back to the story, the pregnant woman with her voracious appetite lured her husband to the unholy act of stealing Ikiriukwummuo's veggies for their sumptuous meal which was later going to render them childless. Morals: always know your limit. Be at peace with everyone. This world is bigger than what you alone can carry.
